AN EXPERT IN MI FIELD
In anthropology we can focus on many different topics about
what is and what makes the human being. The areas that are most interesting for
me is medical anthropology and gender anthropology, so I would like to talk
about a teacher on my faculty, Michelle Sadler, who has a master on gender
studies and a master of science in medical anthropology in Oxford University.
He has done a lot of investigations and publications about how women and men
face the health system. I’m deeply interested on her studies about obstetric
violence, because is a terrible problem that has existed since the birth was
medicalized, and that recently in this decade has come to light as a health
problem that affects to women and their new born child’s. Definitely she has
done a big contribution to the field, and has opened the discussion on a
problem that in our country is not yet possible to legislate, unlike other
parts of the continent.
It sounds really interesting to read something written by her :0 I like gender and health themes
